OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT What Can Be Certified?
- All chemicals, colourants, and auxiliaries used in textile and leather production.
- Synthetic pellets, chips, and masterbatches (including recycled materials).
- Foam and rubber production chemicals.
- Commodity chemicals, maintenance chemicals, and effluent treatment chemicals.
OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT Certification Stages
- CAS number screening + self-assessment = ZDHC Level 1
- CAS number screening + analytical verification + on-site visit = ZDHC Level 2 / Chemical to Zero Progressive (CtZ-P)
- CAS number screening + analytical verification + on-site visit with chemical hazard assessment (CHA) = ZDHC Level 3 / Chemical to Zero Progressive (CtZ-P)
OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT Certification Process
- Application: complete the OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT application form
- CAS Number Screening: Comparison of the ingredients with the OEKO-TEX® restricted substances list (RSL)
- Analysis: Shirley® lab testing ensures impurities remain within the threshold limits set by the OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT standard.
- Self-assessment & On-site Visit: Inspection and evaluation of your company practices
- Report & Certification: You will receive a detailed test report and your certificate, valid for one year

OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT & ZDHC
ECO PASSPORT certified chemicals are accepted by ZDHC as conformant with their the MRSL V3.1., helping manufacturers meet ZDHC requirements while demonstrating a clear commitment to environmental responsibility and product safety.
In order to display the certificates, Chemical Formulators need to register the products to the ZDHC Gateway.
