What Are VOCs
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are carbon-based chemicals that evaporate easily at room temperature. Commonly found in materials such as textiles, flooring, and upholstery, VOCs contribute to indoor air pollution and can pose health risks.
VOC Testing
This testing helps ensure that products comply with health and safety standards, aids in the development of low-emission materials, enabling the improvement of indoor air quality. Our test methods include, but are not limited to:
- OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
- BS EN ISO 10580
- BS EN ISO 16000 Series
- BS EN 16516
- EN 717-1 (modified)
- VOC analysis utilising emission chambers relating to a reference room scenario. A portion of air is sampled and analysed by GC-MS (VOCs) and LC-PDA (Formaldehyde and certain other aldehydes).
- Targeted analysis of regulated substances; Chlorinated solvents, glycols, cresols, by direct desorption.
If you don’t see your required test method listed, get in touch with our team to explore available options.
